Little Rock, AR – The Team Icon 8th/9th grade girls basketball team kicked off their Game Changer Nationals campaign with an emphatic statement, winning both of their games on day one of the tournament. This talented group of young women showcased their skills and determination, leaving no doubt about their intentions.

Let’s talk about Jaisha “Ja” Williams. If you haven’t heard of her yet, prepare to be amazed. This kid is a PROBLEM. She dominated both games, showcasing a combination of skill, athleticism, and heart that is simply unmatched. Her 15-point performance in game one against Alpha Select was nothing short of spectacular, and she followed it up with another impressive 14-point outing in game two against No Excuses. Ja is a defensive force as well, protecting the rim with authority and disrupting opposing offenses.

Gia Campbell, the team’s floor general, was also a standout. Her ball-handling skills are next level, and her ability to penetrate the defense and create for her teammates is a joy to watch. That spin move she pulled off in the second half of game one? Pure magic.

Breanna Lambert had a solid performance as well, contributing on both ends of the floor. Her efficiency from the field was impressive, and her defensive tenacity helped disrupt the opposition.

This team is playing with incredible chemistry and confidence. They’re a joy to watch, and it’s clear that they have their sights set on bringing home the championship.

Icon’s next game is tomorrow at 1:30 pm against the ProStarr Rockets. If they continue to play at this level, we could be looking at a potential showdown in the championship round.
